Enterprise Discovery and Business Skills Course for Armed Forces Widows, Widowers and their Dependants

X-Forces Enterprise and the Forces Pension Society Charitable Fund, in close collaboration with the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, the Army Widows’ Association, the Royal Air Force Widows’ Association and the War Widows’ Association, are seeking to recruit delegates to participate in four days of training extended over two months.

X-Forces Enterprise understands that it is important for widows, widowers and their family members to rebuild their lives, when they are ready, to give them financial independence, confidence and a renewed sense of purpose. X-Forces Enterprise will support this through a bespoke course which will cultivate the enterprise skills needed for employment and self-employment; and provide an enduring support and mentoring after training. Crucially, the training will help the widows’ and widowers’ community, and their dependants, to build confidence in their personal abilities to start a new phase in their lives whatever direction it takes.

The training will be conducted in small supportive groups of like-minded dependants. Phase one is a one-day Discovery package to develop individual skills; Phase two is a two-day Business Planning package to develop ideas and understanding of all aspects of running a business; Phase three – Funding and Launch – looking at means of funding, marketing and launching a business. Each phase is separated by a period of reflection to allow course members to develop their understanding of the training and to help shape their personal business ambitions. At the conclusion of the training X-Forces Enterprise provide ongoing mentoring and advice tailored to the individual’s plans.

The Enterprise Discovery and Business Skills Course is for people of all ages and backgrounds. You do not need any pre-qualification or previous experience to apply – just enthusiasm and an interest in developing your personal and business skills in a supportive setting attuned to Armed Forces community.
