It’s great to welcome in the first MiB newsletter, I’ve been pushing for this newsletter to keep all you awesome networkers up-to-date with all things X-Forces Enterprise and what we, the Ambassadors, get up-to, so enjoy!
On January 25th James Wilthew (Yorkshire Ambassador) and I (North East Ambassador) held a joint Military in Business® networking event also known as a MiB. If you were able to join us on the 25th, you would agree that it was brilliant to hear the success of guest speaker Sam Jeff’s transition from the Royal Navy to running a very successful logistics company (Peregrine Logistics) who provide services to the likes of Amazon! Many thanks to Sam for sharing his experience!
One of the reasons I love being an XFE ambassador is, not only do I get to experience great networking with people from a community only those in it will understand, but we get to hear about the great successes and experiences us like-minded people undertake in our life after service. There is never an awkward silence as no matter what journey or stage you are at, the networkers always have two things in common, the military and business!
All MiB networking events have the pleasure of guest speakers joining to share their story. This could be anyone from the likes of the Director of Veterans’ Affairs or chief executives of companies who want veteran owned businesses to go through their supply chain. They aren’t there for their own gain but there because they want to help, guide and encourage people in order to make the community a better place and allow opportunities to evolve!
Why do I personally get involved and volunteer my time? Because I miss the Military life, the banter, the comradery and as some of you may have experienced it is difficult running your own businesses and sometimes you just need that community, network, connection and also you never know what opportunity may evolve from the network! I also like to help others!
If you haven’t had the great opportunity to join one of my networking events, you will not know much about me, my company White Horse Cleaning Services, and my journey, but it’s your lucky day because you can find my Podcast conversation with Dan on the XFE website, find me on LinkedIn, or alternatively come to the next networking event on the 3rd May! I’ll leave you with two thoughts that may help you get through 2021:
“Jump, the net will always catch you!”
Not matter what your situation may be; have you ever been in a situation where the net never caught you?
Secondly:
“Invest your time wisely, everyone gets 1440 minutes a day, make every one of those minutes count!”
