London March 2018
X-Forces Enterprise (XFE) is delighted to partner with PPL and assist them in their dedication to help UK organisations deliver social impact. As such, on Tuesday 27 March five PPL employees attended training at XFE offices to become X-Forces Enterprise mentors.
During their training, they were led through the importance of mentoring and shown how to mentor effectively within the military business community.
They heard from two mentees; Dr. Ruth Wilde of Care Force Consulting Limited and Adam Meyer of Art Aware, who spoke about their personal experiences and demonstrated how XFE mentoring has made such a positive impact at a time when they became business owners.
Mentoring plays a vital role for small businesses and is critical enablement for success. Martin Wing, Chairman and COO at X-Forces Enterprise commented on the programme,
Mentoring can be your saviour, as you won’t always get everything right first time; therefore access to the right sort of mentoring is essential. The variety of mentoring channels and the strengths of the capabilities at your disposal through X-Forces Enterprise makes that difference.
Simon Morioka, Joint Managing Director at PPL added that,
X-Forces Enterprise plays a vital role in helping the Armed Forces transition into civilian life and to start successful businesses that contribute positively to the UK economy. We are delighted to be able to contribute to this important work via its mentoring programme. Mentoring is a powerful personal development tool and we are looking forward to sharing our knowledge and helping build enterprise skills within the Armed Forces community.
X-Forces Enterprise has a bank of mentors; individuals and corporates supporting XFE start-ups. Mentors provide a vital function to start-up businesses – from fresh industry insights, access to relevant knowledge, skills and industry contacts, to sharing expertise and acting as a sounding-board for our entrepreneurs. We are always interested in meeting new potential mentors. You do not need to have any prior experience to joining our team of X-Forces Enterprise mentors, as we will provide full training. If you are interested and would like to find out more about becoming a mentor for X-Forces Enterprise, please email mentoring@x-forces.com or call 0800 368 9533.
