XFE Delegation Visits Downing Street

X-Forces Enterprise was invited to attend a reception at Downing Street to recognise and celebrate the contribution of military charities and non-profit organisations. On Monday 27th November, a delegation of ten, three from the XFE team and seven business owners, represented the whole Military In Business network at the prestigious venue.

Each of the group was introduced to the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s wife Akshata Murty as well as Johnny Mercer MP, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs.

XFE commissioned a festive wreath by ex-Navy floral artist Keri Jones, presented to Mrs Murty by XFE CEO Ren Kapur MBE, on behalf of the thousands of military business owners around the UK. Author Charles Cordell also presented one of his novels, with a personal message to the Prime Minister.

The group even caught sight of Larry the cat!

X-Forces Enterprise Founder and CEO, Ren Kapur MBE commented:

“It’s always an honour to step into Downing Street, but this invite held a special significance as it allowed us to bring a handful of our supported business owners, representing the thousands we’ve assisted across the UK. The seven Armed Forces veterans in attendance showcased not only diverse business themes but also distinct drivers and paths that led them to start their own venture. What stands out is that each of them is actively contributing to the unique Military In Business community, inspiring and supporting others along the way. Personally, it was immensely gratifying to introduce them and share their stories at this prestigious level, acknowledging their resilience, hard work, and contributions to our country. A big thank you to Mrs. Murty, Johnny Mercer MP, and the OVA team for extending the invitation.

“Its also a testament to the military humour that each of the business owners attempted the iconic Hugh Grant dance down the stairs! A joyous day I won’t forget.”

Keri Jones of Keri Jones Floral Designs said:

“I was completely astonished to receive an email invitation to the No.10 Engagement. I wanted to showcase my business and commissioned a Christmas wreath from XForces Enterprise for the Prime Minster and his wife, which was well received. She was very lovely and easy to talk to. A fantastic day and a wonderful opportunity I will not be forgetting anytime soon!”

Ex-Army author Charles Cordell said:

“An unexpected honour! I still don’t quite feel that I should have been there – amongst truly inspiring veterans and the charities supporting them. Thank you all at XFE for making me part of your day. I am eternally grateful for the tools, confidence and drive you gave me to go it alone – as an author. Without them, it would have been a very different story.”
